Linking up (here) again today! This week’s prompt: morning. 5 minutes to write, here it goes…
I don’t know why but for some reason, when Natalie was first born, we started singing songs from Sound of Music to her. “Do Re Me” and “Edelweiss” specifically. We must have sang them enough to stick because now she can sing every word of both.
Last week, while I was cleaning her bathroom, I peeked across the hall to see her sitting in the rocker in her room, singing Edelweiss to a stuffed animal.
So cute!
When I saw the word “morning” the lyrics of that song were one of the first things to come to mind.
“Every morning you greet me…”
As a rule I enjoy mornings. I’ve always been more of a morning than a night person. That being said, I’m not a big fan of the early wake-up-to-an-alarm types of mornings. I much prefer the ones like last week, during break, where her little voice is the thing to pull me from sleep.
Where her little face was there to meet me. Her little arms to wrap around me. Her rosy cheeks waiting for a kiss.
So glad tomorrow is Saturday, when I can turn off the alarm and look forward to having her greet me!
It is a beautiful thing being woken up by your child (visiting from FMF).
