Recently Steve brought home some new t-shirts for Natalie. One of them says “my mommy is a superhero”in bright turquoise, orange and white. It’s cute but it also made me chuckle. With the exception of my kisses (which have been known to magically heal boo-boos) I usually feel pretty un-superhero-ish.
Luckily I don’t have to be. And neither do you.
2 Corinthians 12:9 tells us, And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
I love these words of encouragement. There is nothing wrong in admitting weakness. We are weak, but we have a strong God.
When you worry – His grace is sufficient.
When you feel like you can’t measure up – His power is made perfect in weakness.
When you’re weary – you can boast in your weakness because His power rests on you.
In all that you do – He is with you.
There are no superhero moms, but there is an awesome God who loves you. And if He has called you to this wonderful challenge and blessing of motherhood, you can be sure He will be with you every step of the way. So lean on Him and let His grace be sufficient and His power be made perfect in you.
